The Process of Making a Glass Bottle: Flow Chart Overview
1. Raw Materials Mixed
– Silica (Sand) , soda ash, limestone, and cullet (Recycled Glass) are combined.
2. Melting in Furnace-
The mixture is heated at over 1,500°C in a furnace to form molten glass.
3.Forming Gobs
– The molten glass is cut into gobs (small, molten pieces).
4. Shaping the Bottle
– *Blow-and-blow* or *press-and-blow* method shapes the glass inside a mold to form the bottle’s neck, body, and base.
5. Annealing
– Bottles are transferred to an annealing oven where they are slowly cooled to relieve stress and strengthen the glass.
6. Quality Inspection
– Each bottle is inspected for defects, cleaned, and prepared for distribution.
7. Finished Product
– The final, durable glass bottle is 100% recyclable and ready for use.
This streamlined process showcases the combination of natural materials and precision engineering to create glass bottles in an efficient, eco-friendly way
